How to listen to your car iPod?

How to listen to your car iPod?

Author: berl

IPods travel with us everywhere we go, hidden discretely in our shirt pockets, handbags, and briefcases. And along with iPods have come a myriad of accessories that go along with it. There are varieties of products from which to choose in order to personalize our iPod experience.

With the attractiveness and popularity of iPod increasing day by day, people tend to use their iPods even while driving. The ability to connect your iPod to your car stereo is a relatively recent innovation, but it has rapidly become the desired way for drivers to enjoy their music. The benefit of this is clear in that you have access to a large library of music without having to carry around a large case of CDs.

And if you wish to pump music from your iPod through your existing car stereo system but the car does not come with iPod connectivity, what can you do?

Previously, the only way to connect your iPod to your car stereo you would have to buy additional equipment to do so. There are a number of options available. The easiest and cheapest way of doing this is via a line input. This is achieved through plugging in an IPod Control Cable into the headphone socket of your iPod and then plugging the other directly into your stereo system. In order to do this your system needs to have a line input or aux input.

Certainly, there are many other car iPod connectors to make your music listening easier in your car. Purchasing an iPod connector for your car can be a difficult decision. With all of the products and brands out there marketing iPod gear, it's important to find the right iPod connector for you, your car and your iPod.

The first thing to remember when searching for an iPod connector for your car is that not all connectors are compatible with all iPods. Many iPod dock owners learned this when newer iPod models came out a few years ago and their older iPod docks and car connectors were not compatible with the newer models. So when searching for an iPod car connector, always make sure that it will play the iPod you own.

Car iPods are becoming a style statement for the youngsters. They are simply one of the best gadgets for listening to music. Have fun and enjoy yourself with the advanced technology to connect your iPod to your car.

The Color Of Your Tie Conveys A Strong Message

The Color Of Your Tie Conveys A Strong Message

The Color Of Your Tie Conveys A Strong Message

By Michael D Taylor

No man should ever underestimate the power of the tie. It is undoubtedly the most important fashion item a man can wear. This is because a tie visually connects to a man's neck and head, and closely to his mouth, so it can be used to convey a strong and clear message. Consider what the color of your tie says about you before you next knot one around your neck.

Blue Tie

Blue is traditionally thought of as a tranquil, peaceful color. A light blue tie says "have faith in me and follow me" while a bright blue tie can appear persistent and unfailing, like waves in the ocean. Blue is a good color tie to wear if you think that something you have to say may be met with hostility. Blue says "let's cooperate" and indicates that you are communicative and willing to compromise, as well as trustworthy.

Yellow Tie

Yellow is eye-catching and warm. If you choose to wear a yellow tie, make sure you sit up straight and make eye contact. Your posture and demeanor should match the vibrant color of your tie. A yellow tie helps you to appear full of energy and vitality. It is also a color of hope and happiness.

Red Tie

A red tie says "power." Red symbolizes passion and strength. You'll often notice politicians and business owners wearing red ties because of this. Don't think you can throw on a red tie and look like you're ready to take on the world, though. If you wear a red tie, make sure your suit is perfectly tailored and your tie knot is neatly done. This will give you the appearance of a born leader, ready to guide his team to victory.

Black Tie

A black tie is something that is closely associated with very formal events and "black tie affairs." A solid black tie should be saved for these special events. You can, however, look for a black tie with a pattern in it, such as a red stripe, for a nice occasion. This will still appear very polished and formal. A black tie conveys elegance and style.

Green Tie

Green is a color that we subconsciously connect to many things. We associate green with being down-to-earth, but we also commonly use the phrase "green with envy." Green symbolizes rebirth and growth. It is a good color to wear if you are going to be announcing important changes at a meeting, or if you wan to portray yourself as someone who is growing in knowledge and skills. This makes it a good choice for a job interview.

Brown Tie

Brown is traditionally thought of as being a very masculine color. If you want to soften the appearance of brown a bit, you can look for a brown tie with a blue or white pattern. Or, if you want to enliven the appearance of brown, look for a brown tie with a red or burgundy pattern. Brown appears down-to-earth and reliable.

Purple Tie

Purple is a color that is traditionally associated with royalty, so wear it wisely. If not well balanced with a neutral such as gray (which appears calm and soothing), it can appear arrogant. A purple tie, however, can also appear creative and artistic. It is a color that is well worn by expressive and visionary men.

Places to Go for a European Weekend Break

Places to Go for a European Weekend Break

Places to Go for a European Weekend Break

By Graeme Knights

Sometimes just a few days in a different location, experiencing different sights, smells, and tastes as well as sleeping in a different bed, seeing different people, and even experiencing another culture can revitalise a person and give them a new perspective to come home to. Weekends go by fast and people should not pack so many things into the days that they feel overwhelmed and rushed. One or two activities per day enjoyed at a leisurely pace are more enjoyable. Of the many wonderful destinations in Europe for a weekend break, here are five:

Paris

This romantic location is known as the "City of Love." Travelers also go to Paris, France for the food and the arts. The Eiffel Tower and the River Seine are two points of interest. Trip planners can choose from a variety of tour packages such as guided tours of the Louvre Museum or hop-on and hop-off metro tours of the city. Additionally, the city can be seen by unhurried, self-guided walking tours.

Rome

Known for its history both secular and religious, people visit Rome, Italy for romance, to enjoy historical sites, and to experience the culture including the food, music and art. Visitors to the city might choose to explore the sites around Michelangelo's Piazza del Campidoglio like the two Capitoline Museums that are the oldest public galleries in the world, first opening in 1734 or visit the Colosseum and other archeological attractions throughout the city.

Barcelona

The thriving metropolis of Barcelona, Spain has an electric atmosphere. Known for its famous artist Gaudi, for tapas, beaches, and fiestas, the city with its Mediterranean coastal climate has many attractions and is a center of culture and commerce. The city has a variety of cafes, some featuring the local Catalonia cuisine. Visitors can examine Gaudi's architectural design at the Sagra Familia, a cathedral featuring multiple exterior sculptures. Then, his art at Park Guell is a fantastical miniature city with meandering pathways. The park is set on a hill overlooking Barcelona.

Amsterdam

People love to take a weekend in Holland's capital city for its art, shopping, and fashion, but the city is also a financial center. Visitors can take guided or self-touring bike rides about Amsterdam and see the sites via the most popular form of transportation in the metropolis. They can step into history at the clog-making museum celebrating traditional wooden clogs, buy tulips at Bloemenmarkt, see the De Gooyer windmill and other local windmills, and find wonderful cheese in the shops at Wegewijs.

East Anglia

This region got its name from the ancient East Angles, an Anglo-Saxon kingdom who brought the name from their original home in Angeln, Germany. Today, the area offers a wide variety of attractions to occupy visitors. Those visiting for weekend breaks can take long walks at High Ash Farm, have fun at the boardwalk at Southwold Pier, and tour the Time and Tide Museum. Another site to tour is Blickling Hall, a Jacobean mansion known as the home of Ann Boleyn.

Serve Up a Party - Perfect Buffet Table in a Small Space With These Five Easy Tips

Serve Up a Party - Perfect Buffet Table in a Small Space With These Five Easy Tips

Serve Up a Party - Perfect Buffet Table in a Small Space With These Five Easy Tips

By Krista Fabregas

Have you ever been to a party with great food on a beautifully arranged buffet table all served up by an unruffled host? If you're like me, you've probably left a few of these parties wondering just how they pulled it off.

While the host who throws perfect parties time after time may seem a magician, there's certainly no spell needed to lay out a great buffet table. From weddings and showers to birthdays and family get-togethers, any space large or small can easily serve a crowd if you know these few simple tricks of the catering trade.

Tip 1: Start with a Plan... Ahead of Time

The first and probably most important tip is to make your serving plan a few days in advance - maybe even before you finalize your menu. Knowing which foods go on each dish or platter and where those pieces fit on the serving table beforehand can make party day setup a breeze.

Tip 2: Give Yourself Some Space

Next take a look at your space and furniture arrangement. What works for everyday may not work for a crowd, so don't be afraid to rearrange your furniture. When it comes to buffet table placement, remember this simple rule: If two people can't easily pass along the sides of the table, it's better to move the table and serve from the front. In tight kitchen or dining areas this usually means moving chairs to other spaces for additional seating and placing the table against a wall. This open arrangement gives guests plenty of mingle room and table access.

Tip 3: Pick Your Platters, Plates & Trays

Once you're happy with the serving table placement, take a look at your serving pieces. If you're short on the types of platters or bowls you need to serve your party foods, now is the time to hit the party store. And remember, plastic trays and bowls are always ideal choices for a worry-free buffet table. You can also get creative with what you have on-hand. Repurpose a few casserole dishes to hold rows of crackers or cookies and use napkin-lined baskets to serve breads or muffins. Even wooden or bamboo cutting boards make great bread or cheese boards - just give them a good washing first.

Tip 4: Arrange Your Buffet Table Like the Pros

Next arrange your buffet table using the selected serving pieces. And remember the secret catering pros use to make it all fit and look fabulous - create height! It's easy if you have a few cake pedestals or serving sets with stands. If not, you can easily make your own using stemware. To do this, simply turn over two to four stemmed glasses to create stands and set platters or trays on top. Martini and margarita glasses work best since the wide rims create a stable base. Wine glasses work, too, but you might want to use more for stability. Create shorter stands for small bowls or plates using upturned bowls or tumblers. On party day, use double-sticky tape or removable glue dots to keep the raised pieces in place on their stands.

Lay out your buffet table placing taller pieces toward the back of a front-serve table, or along the center of a two-sided serving table. Then place shorter platters, large bowls, and finish off with smaller pieces. Remember to place crackers, dips and other complimentary foods close together on the table.

Tip 5: Pull in Extra Pieces to Make it All Work

Last, don't forget to put other pieces to work. If you have shelves, a bakers rack or a side table available, set that up adjacent to the buffet table for plates, utensils and napkins. This maximizes serving space on the buffet table and creates a flow that works well with any size crowd.

Fabulous, Fit, Fantastic and Forty!

Fabulous, Fit, Fantastic and Forty!

Fabulous, Fit, Fantastic and Forty!

By Patty Rose

If you are in your forties and beyond you may have faced these questions about your body, energy level, and muscle tone.

What happens to women when they reach their forties and beyond? Do their muscles completely atrophy? Does their metabolism cease to exist? Do they loose all resistance to gravity? Does their fitness level dive to unrecoverable depths? It may feel like it some days but the answers to these questions is...

No, No, No and No!!!

In case you didn't hear me, the answer to all of the above is NO! It's no wonder women in their forties have a tough time with aging and understanding themselves. There are changes that occur, this is true. However, If you are experiencing these things and wishing you could do something about it, you can!

You may have heard it said that 50 is the new 40, and we all know 30 was already wonderful. But where does that leave 40?

I think, it leaves women in their forties a whole, wide - open stake to claim. There are many resources out there for women to utilize to feel better. You can read uplifting motivating books, spend time with friends who understand, purchase all the products made for home workouts.

But, the questions still remains, how will YOU claim YOUR stake?

How about by being Fabulous, Fit, Fantastic and Forty!

Fabulous: You were born fabulous and are already fabulous without improvement. Believe in yourself! This one action alone, the action of feeling OK with who you are, at any age, can motivate you take one small step toward getting in touch with that part of you that you've been missing. It is just one small movement, motion, action, thought, that can change the course of your day. So, again, Believe in YOU!

Fit: The goal: fit mind, fit body and fit soul. But, we can't put 100% into everything at the same time. Choose what you will focus on and try to touch upon the others in for daily balance. Will you dance, go for a walk, do a 10 minute routine, take baby steps or jump in with both feet?

Fantastic: Even with all it's challenges, life is fantastic. I think finding ways to remember this is integral to the motivational aspect of staying healthy and fit. You may want to try practicing gratitude. One of my favorites is a book called "Simple Abundance" and it accompany journal, "Gratitude Journal" by Sarah Ban Breathnach. One of her recommendations is this: each night write five things that you are grateful for. I've done this, it's great. You'd be surprised what an amazing tool it can be to living a fantastic life!

Forty: Ugh, right. No! Forty is the New Fantastic!

Let's just go with it and see if it fits. Find fitness and feel fantastic in your forties. http://www.4WeeksToFantastic.com

Print and match

chair redo

Mixing and matching prints with plains is simple. The trouble begins when you want to go beyond the obvious and try something a bit more daring. Like checks and prints. Or dots and prints. Or prints and prints. With lots of color.

Blue, white and pink makes for a fabulous combination. You might say oh, it works well in the Western context but i know for a fact that it would look fabulous in the Indian context too.

Imagine a navy blue printed sheet with magenta printed cushions. And a bit of green and gold. I think it could work.

Try something different today. Layer your home with prints. Your printed bedspread with pillows from another set. Stop buying matching and do share with me if it worked for you. Or not.

(i promise to share soon pictures of the room i styled with blue, white and pink. it was the room that won the most votes).

If you need help with color - in your wardrobe or home, write to me at ambicasrimal@gmail.com. I wont charge for advice but promise to pay as much thought and time as if you were paying for it.

PS: Isn't the way this DIY chair been styled fabulous? So romantic and colorful. I can just about imagine the rest of the room. A simple white distressed wooden table placed in front of a big window overlooking a garden, a small glass vase with one red flower on it, a laptop, some books, 2 picture frames, a pink rug on the floor and lots of fairy lights.

World of Simple Cocktails - 5 Steps to Throwing an Amazing Cocktail Party

World of Simple Cocktails - 5 Steps to Throwing an Amazing Cocktail Party

World of Simple Cocktails - 5 Steps to Throwing an Amazing Cocktail Party

By Veronika Pataki

What do you need to throw a phenomenal cocktail party? Not much. In this step-by-step guide I will walk you over the process of the preparation to assist you in your success as a home bartender. Here it comes:

1. Plan the selection of the simple cocktails you will serve. A few different kinds of drinks are good enough to create a great atmosphere and not making you exhausted at the party. Just keep it simple.

2. If this is your first time planning to be a home bartender, consider to purchase the cocktail supplies you will need. Buying all these is only a one-time investment; you will use them over and over again. So let's see what the basics are:

  • Blender - the main function of the blender is crushing ice for the mixed drinks. Look for one with sharp blades and a strong motor. It doesn't have to be fancy though.

  • Shaker - you have two options here. If you choose the 2-piece Boston shaker with the mixing glass and metal tin, make sure to buy a cocktail strainer as well. The other option is to purchase a 3-piece cocktail shaker with a built-in strainer.

  • Jigger - also known as measure, is a device with 2 opposing cones that will be a big help for you measuring the ingredients of your drink creations.

Glassware - depending on the cocktail selection you plan to serve, choose from the following types of glasses:- Champagne glass - saucer, goblet or flute glass with long stem

- Martini glass - a triangle shaped glass with stem

- Sherry glass - small glass with stem for appetizer cocktails

- Highball glass - straight, wide and tall glass

- Collin glass - straight, narrow and tall glass

- Old Fashioned glass - short tumbler with thick base

- Shot glass - small glass with thick base.

- Cocktail Muddler - a wooden tool for crushing and squeezing ingredients.3. As a third step, make a list of the spirits of the simple cocktails you will offer and head over to the liquor store. It is not necessary to buy the most expensive bottles of spirits to make sure that your mixed drinks will taste good. On the other hand, your guests would definitely find a cocktail less likable if it was made of low quality spirit.

So, just purchase middle-priced liquors. Even though these liquors cost a little more than the cheapest ones, you will use such a small amount of them in a cocktail that they will last for quite long.

4. Now that you have all the necessary tools and equipment as well as the liquors you will need

  • Create a list of all the additional ingredients and garnishes for your cocktails and drop by a grocery store.

  • As you are already in the grocery store, you might as well buy the ice you will need. Never store ice too long in your freezer before a party because ice tends to absorb some of the essence of the frozen food you keep there.

  • There are two more items you need to take home from the store: snacks and drinking water. Both of them are essential to help your guests avoid getting drunk and having a hangover the next day.

This is it. Now you are all set to throwing an amazing cocktail party. The 5th step is optional:

5. You can create party invitations to amaze your friends even before the party has started.

See how easy it is to get ready for your fun event? It doesn't take too much time and guarantees your success among your guests. Enjoy!

Cinderella, Dress For Success!

Cinderella, Dress For Success!

Cinderella, Dress For Success!

By Dr Carmen Lynne

In the phenomenal bestselling book by Victoria Beckham, "That Extra Half An Inch!" Victoria shares the dramatic situation surrounding her introduction to the world of fashion! Within this account she illustrates the need to dress appropriately for the occasion!

The Spice Girls had been preparing for six weeks in the south of France for their first ever stadium show. In the midst of their tight schedule, Victoria reveals that she was suddenly invited to her first ever fashion show in, of all places, Milan!

Finding herself on the front row of one of the most prestigious catwalk shows in the world, she states, "...the world felt as magical (and unlikely) as Cinderella finding herself at the ball."

Her fairy godmother was, none other than, Donatella Versace, who had also invited her to the party afterwards. Then, to stay the night at her outstanding palazzo on Lake Como.

Victoria commented about the situation, "Of course, Cinderella Spice could hardly turn up in her little black Miss Selfridge dress..."

As fate would have it, Donatella had thought of everything. Victoria was escorted to the Versace shop and given the instruction that "I could choose whatever I wanted."

Victoria concluded about the event, "...this was the first time I had ever been that close to the fashion world, and it was like the fuse of a firework had been lit."

We may not have the same story to tell as former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham. However, it is my wish for each of you to develop a greater desire for fashion and a passion to dress for success! Why? Dressing for success will give each of us greater confidence, contacts and crowds, leading to broader opportunities and richer life experiences!

Greater Confidence

When discussing clothing, we may argue, "It's what's inside that really counts." This is true but the eyes of men and women look on the surface before they ever find out what's inside. When we look at ourselves in the mirror, we either see a professional or a novice. This is initially determined by what we are wearing.

We live in a world where we must sell our image before we can sell our products or enter into higher business relationships. To do that, we must believe in ourselves. If we don't believe that we are winners, nobody else will. Dressing appropriately for occasions will elevate our self-image and our confidence.

If you don't have loads of money like Donatella Versace, start with buying just one nice business suit or outfit. Use it for important occasions and you will feel successful when it counts.

It's amazing how much more capable people feel when they are dressed nicely rather than looking shabby. Confident people gain the confidence of those around them. Victoria Beckham, in Milan, would have certainly felt more confident and beautiful in her Versace outfit than her little black dress!

It's true, clothes don't make you, but they will certainly build your confidence, leading to greater self-worth and more pleasurable life experiences!

Greater Contacts

It's important for you to spend time with people who are wealthier than you. Dressing for Success opens doors for you to mix with a more affluent circle of influence!

Many years ago when I discovered the principle of building my net worth I purposely got to know people who had more money than I did. I still do this today! They continually challenge me to rise up to a greater level!

Look at the people you are friends with. If you are the wealthiest person in your circle you will find that you may not be growing to a new level financially. Each of us needs contacts that are ahead of us to spur us on!

Why not go out and get a wealthy friend. Not because you are hoping that they'll bail you out of your present financial crisis. Get a wealthy friend to teach you some financial sense. Then you can bail yourself out of your crisis!

If you don't know where to meet wealthy people go to a chamber of commerce city meeting, buy a ticket to a charity event, get involved in a business breakfast, a toastmasters function, go to exclusive clothing stores, or research using the internet. You'll find someone if you explore! When you go to an event, make sure you are well dressed. Your clothing will be the first (and quickest) step to helping you fit in.

One of the most wonderful things about hanging around wealthy people is gaining greater insight and wisdom. I firmly believe that if I can learn from someone else's mistakes then I can avoid unnecessary setbacks. This saves me time, effort, money and preserves my self-esteem. Success rubs off! If you spend time with a wealthy friend you will begin to see, speak, think and act like a wealthy person.

Successful people have success stories to share, just like Victoria Beckham, who met Donatella Versace and was inspired to another level of living! She now has her own clothing line!

Advice has great value if it comes from someone who is more successful than ourselves. You can learn about what's hot on the market, what's making money and what's booming. You never know when you will suddenly make a great contact, as you are dressed for success. Amazing opportunities may even come your way! If you look the part, others will be more likely to include you in their circle of success to influence your life!

Greater Crowds

Dressing for success allows others to believe in you and follow you. Victoria Beckham has emerged as a "true girl's girl" - GLAMOUR

People want to follow someone who looks like they have clear direction and are heading somewhere. If you want to attract a crowd you need to look the part. So invest in some nice clothes! If you don't know what to get or where to shop, find someone who looks good and ask them for help. It will pay off for you many times over.

Other areas to address for success

Each of us can find areas to improve. You may need to change your hairstyle, makeup, briefcase, accessories, etc. Some of you look nice but should improve your table manners. Others would benefit greatly from learning to become an active listener.

I've watched people who know very little about making money or becoming successful, get around wealthy people and dominate the conversation. This is merely the result of nervous tension! When they overpower others, it gives the impression that they are foolish. Remember that those who listen are perceived to be wise!

I believe that Victoria Beckham may have felt some discomfort upon meeting Donatella Versace and being thrust into her fashion circle! I also believe that she faced the situation with poise and preparation! I hope this brief discussion has helped you to focus on preparing for your personal Cinderella encounter!

As you begin to dress for success you will experience greater confidence, contacts and crowds! This will gain the attention of those around you, leading to more significant success and richer life experiences!

Questions to ask yourself

1. Do I dress successfully? Ask someone you know!

2. How can I change my appearance to look more successful?

3. Who do I know who is very wealthy?

4. How can I begin to spend more time around wealthy people?

5. Do I have impeccable table manners?

6. Am I able to listen and not dominate conversations, especially when I feel uncomfortable?

Weekend Wear - 3 Ways to Make Sure Your Weekend Wardrobe Is Working

Weekend Wear - 3 Ways to Make Sure Your Weekend Wardrobe Is Working

Weekend Wear - 3 Ways to Make Sure Your Weekend Wardrobe Is Working

By Erin Braxton

As a young girl, I aspired to grow up and be this super sharp, well put-together professional female. Of course I had multiple career dreams where I would wear these high-powered, sleek business suits. They would look just as hot as the career women on The Young & the Restless. I would get them from Spiegel Catalog or Neiman Marcus. And I would look highly sophisticated and important. I never anticipated having a job where I home office the majority of the time and the weekends would be my chance to take my dressing up a notch. But that is exactly what happened. Weekends are my time to get out and about, the same as most people.

Anything is possible on the weekend, so why wouldn't you try to look the best you can just because you're not headed to the boardroom or the club! There is nothing worse than a really bad weekend wardrobe, so here are three ways to make sure your weekend wear is working.

  1. Make the investment. Don't opt for old, torn-up jeans and freebie tees. Even though most of us are looking forward to our days off, and it's not a requirement that we wear stuffy business attire, why not be comfortable and current? Summertime gives you the opportunity to wear breezy summer dresses and cute little sandals. Winter is the time to wear form-flattering sweaters and jeans that hug in all the right places. It's worth the money to feel and look good.

  2. Make the effort. Anything is possible over the weekend. You can see anyone and end up doing any number of things. When you're out shopping and lunching with your girls at some hot little spot, you're most likely to run into other people you know who want to be at that same hot lunch spot. So don't get caught out there slipping. Maybe your makeup is just lipgloss and mascara. Perhaps your hair isn't as coiffed as it is Monday thru Friday. But you still look fresh and put together.

  3. Express your true self. Your weekends are your time. You don't have to dress for some company or client. You can dress for yourself. When we feel good we look good. Don't take that for granted. Have fun with your wardrobe and take opportunities to do things you wouldn't do in your work place.

In a woman's crazy world of work, fun, family and everything else, weekends are the highlight of the week. Make sure you greet them in style.
